Card Spending and Transaction Fees

Learn how RutoWallet virtual card transaction fees, failed transaction fees, negative balances, and settlement may work.

When users make payments using a RutoWallet virtual card, transaction fees may apply.

These fees are connected to the user's selected card plan. Different card plans may include different spending limits, transaction fees, failed transaction fees, recharge fees, withdrawal fees, and other card-related conditions.

Users should always review the plan details before purchasing or using a virtual card.

Plan-Based Transaction Fees

Card spending and transaction fees are shown on the card plan page.

The plan page explains the fees and limits that apply to each card plan. This may include:

  • Card spending limits
  • Transaction fees
  • Failed transaction fees
  • Recharge or top-up fees
  • Card withdrawal fees
  • Other plan-related charges

By reviewing the plan page, users can understand what fees apply to their selected card before they use it.

Provider-Based Fees

RutoWallet does not add extra fees on top of the fees charged by the card provider.

Card transaction fees are based on the fees required by the card provider and the user's selected card plan. These fees may change if the card provider updates its pricing, issuer rules, processing fees, or network conditions.

If card-related pricing changes, RutoWallet will notify affected users through their registered email address or other available notification channels.

Failed Transaction Fees

Some failed card transactions may still require a fee.

This can happen because card providers, processors, or payment networks may charge fees even when a transaction is declined or unsuccessful. If a failed transaction fee applies, it may be deducted from the card balance.

In some cases, a failed transaction fee may cause the card balance to become negative.

Negative Card Balance

If failed transaction fees or other applicable card charges cause the card balance to become negative, the user is responsible for clearing the negative balance.

A negative card balance may be recovered when the user:

  • Recharges the card
  • Withdraws remaining card balance
  • Deletes or closes the card
  • Performs another card-related action that requires settlement

If the negative balance is not cleared within the required time, RutoWallet may deduct the owed amount directly from the user's available wallet balance.

Fee Settlement Time Limit

Users may be given a limited time to clear unpaid card fees or negative balances.

If the user does not settle the fee within the required time, RutoWallet may automatically deduct the amount from the user's RutoWallet wallet balance.

This process helps keep card accounts active, compliant, and properly settled with the card provider.

Important Notes

Users should check the selected card plan before making payments.

Card fees may vary depending on the plan, card provider, transaction type, merchant, region, currency, and card network requirements.

Users should maintain enough balance on their card and wallet to cover payments, transaction fees, and any applicable failed transaction charges.
