Virtual Credit Card

Learn how RutoWallet virtual Visa and Mastercard cards work, including top-ups, usage, restrictions, and important card notes.

RutoWallet provides virtual card services that allow users to spend their wallet balance through supported card networks.

RutoWallet offers access to both Visa and Mastercard virtual cards. These cards are designed to help users spend value from their cryptocurrency wallet in a more familiar card-based payment format.

How the Virtual Card Works

The RutoWallet virtual card allows users to spend funds after recharging or topping up the card from their wallet balance.

Users cannot spend cryptocurrency directly from the card without first adding funds to the card balance. To use the card, users need to transfer supported crypto from their RutoWallet balance to the virtual card through a process called recharge or top-up.

Recharge or Top-Up

To recharge a virtual card, users select the cryptocurrency they want to use from their wallet balance.

During the top-up process, the selected cryptocurrency is converted into USD, because the card balance is maintained and spent in fiat currency rather than directly in cryptocurrency.

Before confirming the recharge, RutoWallet will show the estimated amount that will be added to the card. This allows users to review how much USD they will receive on the virtual card before completing the top-up.

Once the recharge is completed successfully, the card balance will be updated and users can start spending with the card.

Where the Card Can Be Used

RutoWallet virtual cards can be used at supported merchants that accept international Visa or Mastercard payments.

This may include online merchants, apps, subscriptions, travel platforms, digital services, and other eligible merchants that support Visa or Mastercard card payments.

Visa and Mastercard are accepted by millions of merchants worldwide, allowing users to spend their RutoWallet card balance across a broad global payment network.

Merchant and Regional Restrictions

Some merchants, industries, platforms, or countries may not support card payments because of Visa, Mastercard, issuer, compliance, regional, or regulatory restrictions.

RutoWallet virtual cards may not work in prohibited or restricted regions. Examples may include countries or regions restricted by the relevant card network, card issuer, or compliance provider, such as China, Russia, Afghanistan, and other restricted locations.

Availability may also depend on:

  • Merchant category
  • Card network rules
  • Issuer restrictions
  • Regional limitations
  • Compliance requirements
  • Transaction risk checks

Users should check whether the merchant and region support Visa or Mastercard payments before attempting a transaction.

Important Notes

The virtual card is linked to the user's RutoWallet card balance, not directly to the full wallet balance.

Users must recharge the card before spending. If the card balance is insufficient, the payment may be declined.

The final amount added during top-up may vary depending on conversion rate, market conditions, and applicable fees shown before confirmation.

RutoWallet may block, decline, or restrict card transactions that appear suspicious, unsupported, prohibited, or non-compliant with card network and issuer requirements.
