Passcode / PIN

Learn how the RutoWallet six-digit passcode protects sensitive wallet actions and how passcode reset works.

RutoWallet uses a six-digit PIN as a personal passcode for authorizing sensitive wallet actions.

The passcode is an additional security layer that helps confirm that important actions are being performed by the account owner.

When the Passcode Is Required

Users may be required to enter their passcode before completing sensitive actions, including:

  • Sending money to another RutoWallet user
  • Withdrawing funds to an external blockchain wallet
  • Recharging or topping up a virtual card
  • Completing other selected security-sensitive actions

The passcode helps protect the user's funds and reduces the risk of unauthorized transactions.

Setting a Passcode

Users can set their six-digit passcode from the Settings section of the RutoWallet app or website.

Users should choose a passcode that is easy for them to remember but difficult for others to guess. The passcode should not be shared with anyone.

Forgotten Passcode

If a user forgets their passcode, they must submit a passcode reset request to RutoWallet support.

For security reasons, passcode reset requests require manual verification by the support team before the passcode can be removed or reset. This process helps protect the user's account and prevents unauthorized passcode changes.

Restrictions During Passcode Reset

While a passcode reset request is under review, the user may not be able to transfer funds or perform selected sensitive wallet actions.

This restriction is applied to protect the user's account until the reset request has been reviewed and verified.

After Passcode Removal or Reset

If the passcode is removed after successful verification, the user must set a new six-digit passcode before using features that require passcode authorization.

The user will need to add a new passcode before they can complete actions such as sending funds, withdrawing funds, or recharging a virtual card.

Important Security Reminder

Users should never share their RutoWallet passcode with anyone, including friends, family members, or anyone claiming to represent support.

RutoWallet support will never ask users to share their passcode.
